HERE COMES THE SUN

After a long, harsh, cold, snowy, winter- March is finally here. In the Colorado front range we have had snow on the ground for over 2 months solid (which broke 100 year old records in many towns) until last week. So bring on the the Irish parades, spring cleaning, and start filling out your NCAA bracket for the madness that is March!

I even scanned the internet globe to find a gravel road that gave a hint of the coming spring. Here is the gravel road of the month - a warmer offering than the past two snow-covered images.

As always on the GPI Gravel Road, be the first senior staffer to name the state this gravel road is in and you will win a copy of the book of the month. Our prize for March is by Erwin Raphael McManus-Unstoppable Force: Daring to Become the Church God Had in Mind. I attended McManus' Origens Conferences at his Mosaic church in LA two years ago. He is definitely on the cutting edge of where the culture and the body of Christ need to be in reaching a new generation. This would be a great read to do as a staff team.

And for our senior staff of the week we feature another young gun-Jenni Robinson. Jenni, who is no relation to Brooks, Smoky, Bert, or Mrs. Robinson, interned at Missouri State before going to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Here she is pictured with some of her posse at DCC...

A ministry lesson/perspective God has taught me over my years on staff: God has taught me that it is all about Him and His glory. My job is to meet with Him in intimacy, taking steps of faith as He leads. It is His ministry and not mine.

As I read Jenni's profile I wasn't suprised to see she listed typical "chick flicks" like Pride and Prejudice and The Lake House as favorite films. This is the kind of girl you can take home to your mother. However as I read on I was amused to see she also loves Tommy Boy, Hoosiers, and Dumb and Dumber. This is the kind of girl you can also take home to hang with the guys. Then I opened her photos and found this gem.

Bottom line: Jenni is the kind of girl you can take home to babysit your little brother.

In the picture above Jenni is:
(a) Breaking in a new jacket and pair of boots on her way to an MPD dinner
(b) Relating with Al Gore and the Hollywood Green movement by hugging a tree
(c) Doing a photo shoot for Clairol hair products that defy gravity
(d) Proving the three-toed sloth has nothing on a ten finger-nailed woman

Until next week- you make the call.

-Bert
